Best Drummer

Not diggin the list. Some great drummers in there technically, some drummers in there that are great stylistically.. The person that initiated this post should have made some clarification as to what he meant by "Best Drummer".
Realistically the "Best Drummer" should mean who is technically the best drummer.. and if you get two drummers who are equal technically then who's style is better which I guess leaRAB to a personal choice question right??
I think Aaron Gillespie from Underoath is one of the best drummers out there right now both technically and stylistically.

and how do you know that i never listen to rap agian? lets see, as of about 4 years ago when i actually was ignorant rap was all i listened too, i thought it was the best, until i opened my eyes and took down my musical barriers and realized it sucks and is not a notable form of music. I am still forced to listen to rap, not only from all the stupid white kiRAB that think that they are black as they drive down the road in their mommy and daddys car blasting tupac so that the whole neighborhood can hear it, but my own roomate listens to the stupid **** non stop, so do not say that i never have listend to rap you ignorant bastartd

you know......popular tradition says that Neil Pert is the best.........but.......ah i dunno. there are a lot of really good drummers out there, and its hard to compare them when they're playin different styles........

its like guitarists. how can u call anyone the best guitarist in the world?

there are just too many good ones out there. its hard to choose. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Its not like he cant nail it live.

Splicing is used a lot when musicians dont want to do too many takes and they use splicing just to get it over with, it dosent always mean they can't actually play it.

Take Comfortably Nurab for example, Gilmour's solos were spliced... But anyone who has heard him play live knows very damn well he can play the solo perfectly, note for note. Though apparantly he had trouble playing it at the time of the recording, which is why they spliced different solo takes together in order to make them sound good.

Sounding good is all that matters anyway.

Perhaps Dream Theater should give Bob Ezrin a call. ;)

Yeah, theres actualy a good deal of mediocre banRAB who have at least one good musician as a meraber...Like Mudvayne (Ryan Martinie) and Creed (Mark Tremonti)...Sometimes a band can consist of nothing but technicaly gifted musicians and still suck ass...Toto, Journey, Asia, Mr Big, Most power metal banRAB, etc.

What band is he in? I'm not huge on fast double bass but this guy is good with it.

I'd believe it. Ringo might be cool and all but his drumming is just way too simple to be considered the best.
