Best Drummer

Am I missing something here... based on their newest album, their lead guitarist can really shred with the best of them, in technicality.

Though I think their newest album is their worst :\

OK, he's really good, seriously good, and I am big fan of his and the Foo Fighters, and I'd even go as far as to say Grohl is way above average and quite awesome in his own right.... but better than some of the folks listed on this board...Neil Peart, Danny Carey, John Bonham... Grohl himself probably worships these guys himself and would probably erabarassed to be called "better" than alot of these dru

Hopefully Billy the one man band pumpkin can pull out some good musical tricks and the next album doesn't wind up sounding like TheFutureErabrace...god I hope not, he's gotta have learned...

Whoa ok now... it is very apparent that soe of you guys shouldn't even be on this forum lol. First off Ringo Star = blow my nuts he shouldn't be considered a drummer. Slayer? Opeth? Pantera? Are you kidding me? these guys are metal and speed metal drummers!!! come on! they play double bass and blast beats. period. Ever even heard rush? probably not lol.

Neil Peart. Keith Moon. Virgil Donati. Mike Portnoy. Danny Carey.

These guys play drums. holy **** these guys play drums.
Neil Peart is imo the best drummer of all time. the man is a prodigy and is all around in the sense that he can play anything on a 100% mastery skill level basis. He has come as close to mastering the art of percussion as anyone ever has or probably will.

The same can be said for guys like moon and donati... mike portnoy? dream theater? nuff said.

These guys PLAY DRUMS. not just metal. opeth slayer metallica.... pantera... damageplan... they cant touch these guys.

I'm in for Carey too. That thing he does in the middle of Eulogy where the bass/snare corabo is on this completely different tangent than the high hat...it's difficult enough to listen to, let alone play.

^ yeah at first i was confusing this between the guitarist poll...i forgot this one was for all around...the guitarist one is for technical skill.....so thats my bad..but id still rather watch Neil Peart over any of the others any day
