Best Drummer

I really can't understand why people think Dave Grohl is one of the best drummers. He's a good drummer, he has great rhythm, but his techniques are actually pretty simple when you break it down. His technicalities are no way as good as other more technical drummers like Peart or Carey.

Couldn't agree more. That stuff is over-playing, and most of the time it's used at the wrong time. It takes away from the music for the most part, although some drummers (Neil Peart included) can be very tasteful with their double bass work.

moon wasnt the best technically but when you see him play, he plays with a lot of passion - some musicians just play like robots - so moon gets my vote

MY FAVS
The Moby **** man, John Bonham
OHHHHHH, joey (plays like a ****ing psycho and looks so clam while doing it ;) )
INNOCENT CABBAGE FROM MELBOURNE, Jo their drummer is the SICEST DRUMMER EVER! ( innocentcabbage.com )
Meg WooHoo, just plain and AWESOME in the Cold Cold Night.

i personally think Buddy Guy is better than Jimi Hendrix tho. and hendrix pulled a lot of his style from Guy, and SRV pulled his style from both of them.

I like Vinnie Paul. I think he keeps his drumming pretty interesting. He made on to my list on that merit. I thought the drumming throughout the Cowboys from Hell album was pretty good.

Why not? John Bonham is a good drummer. I think he deserves to be on the list since he was an even better drummer for his time. Keith Moon might be better, but I haven't heard enough of the Who to judge.

Pearts solo's never outlive their welcome. They are brilliant from start to finish, not to mention that he doesn't even solo that often. Maybe one 4- minute solo per show.

Charlie Watts is so underrated; no one keeps a beat like him, Keith Moon is the only drummer I have ever heard that plays like drums were the lead instrument, Neil Peart is technically amazing
