Best Drummer Ever

Keith Moon for me of course because fish inside of drums cannot be topped.

and yet...

Where the fuck is Jimmy Charaberlin, James!?!?!?!?!?!?! You SOB!

I did not say that:

A.) Meg White and AC/DC's drummers are bad because they play simple beats. I often find myself defending them, especially Meg, when other people say they suck at drums, which is a stupid thing to say, considering that they both do exactly what drummers are supposed to do in the first place: keep the beat.
B.) That rock's bad, I like it just as much as jazz and probably a bit more.
C.) That rock employs terrible and less-skilled people on the kit. I didn't say rock drummers are bad in any way, shape, or form. I just said that in general I think jazz drummers are way better, because I find their playing more interesting and complex.

There are jazz drummers that transcend genres as well (not too many in the traditional jazz area, I'll give you that), mainly in fusion: Dave Weckl, Alex Acu

Not really, but I guess it could be percieved that way by how I worded it. I don't think that jazz drummers as a whole are any better then rock drummers. However there are some amazingly talented ones. In the second statement I was refering to the pioneers of jazz drumming, not just any generic jazz drummer.

keith moon was the greatest drummer ever- john bonham was great too, but keith moon could do things on the drums that have never been heard since his death - bonham was more precision, moon was genius

p.s. nothing against bonham - he is great too and would be my second best

What I should've said is that I think jazz drumming is more interesting to listen to than rock drumming. "Way better" were the wrong worRAB to use, you could argue for hours about who's the best drummer and you'd never come out with a correct answer, because there is really no "best drummer ever." I like listening to jazz drumming more than I like listening to rock drumming, I'll stick with that as my statement on the matter.
