Best Disney Animated Film?

Disney proper hasn't made a decent animated film since The Lion King.

If you include Pixar's films prior to their purchase by Disney then you have to include Studio Ghibli's films, which Disney also distribute.

And if you include Studio Ghibli then, as good as Pixar's films and Disney's earlier works are, the top ten spots are instantly filled by Studio Ghibli. Disney/Pixar simply can not compare.

My favourite varies from day to day, but right this second it's "Kiki's Delivery Service". Tomorrow it may be "Whisper of the Heart", "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" or a little "Nausica

What is it, including the Disney-Pixar ones?

My running order would be -

5. Monsters Inc.
4. Snow White
3. The Aristocats
2. Toy Story
1. Beauty and the Beast (the only animated film to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar. How is lost is a traversty)

You?

Oh, I don't know. If you look at the history of Pixar, and their production process.. you'll see that they put their absolute hearts and pour their emotions into their films. This, personally, touches me and makes me look beyond the animation and see the personal adventures/journies of the characters.

With the exception of The Incredibles (wasn't a big fan), I could sit and watch any Pixar film on a loop all day. Even their shorts convey powerful emotions.. Luxo, Jr.! :)

I totally forgot about this thread, and I've seen Ratatouille after buying it on DVD ages ago now... I'll add Ratatouille into my list:

1) Monsters, Inc.
2) Toy Story
3) Cars
4) Ratatouille
5) A Bug's Life
6) Toy Story 2
7) Finding Nemo
8) The Incredibles

1. Little Mermaid (the 'Kiss the girl' scene is probably the most beautiful scene in any film EVER).
2. Dumbo (when Dumbo is visiting his mother and she swings him in her trunk and that song plays never fails to reduce me to tears).
3. Beauty and the Beast (the ballroom scene is not far behind Kiss the Girl).
4) Toy Story, just absolute genius and confirms what I knew all along, that my toys are in fact alive.;)
5) Hercules - not widely popular but I love it and the music is fantastic.

Of course I love all the others and couldn't possibly put them in order but I think thats my top 5!!

Agreed in general, though The Incredibles remains one of my favourite Pixar films.

Finding Nemo is my least favourite, even though everyone seems to love it. That's not to say I don't like it, because I really do. To identify my least faovurite Pixar film is like trying to think of my least favourite Cadbury's chocolate bar!!

Currently, my ranking (of Pixar films only) is thus:

1) Toy Story
2) Toy Story 2
3) Ratatouille
4) The Incredibles
5) Monsters, Inc.
6) A Bug's Life
7) Cars
8) Finding Nemo

I can't quite believe that a film as good as Monsters, Inc. is so far down my list, but it just shows the quality of Pixar films generally.

My faves are: (in no particular order)

Monster Inc
Alladin
Tarzan
Cinderella 1 and the twist in time one
Finding Nemo
The Little Mermaid
The lion King
