Best Disaster movie?

Just following on from the 'Flood' thread, I just wondered which disaster movies people here liked? I like most of the old ones including Towering inferno, Earthquake, Poseidon Adventure, and Airport/Airplane (I can never remember which one is the funny one and which isnt )

So whats yours?

I found Daylight with Sylvester Stallone very enjoyable. Surprising really as I'm not a big fan of his movies.

Airplane but its not disaster movie as such really is it?

Agree with OP on Poseidon Adventure, still think its an excellent movie. Also Armageddon, the end has me in flooRAB everytime!

Twister is on ITV2 tonight at 8:30. It's one of my favourites as I like Helen Hunt.

deep impact and armageddon terrify me! deep impact more because of the wave and stuff,

i agree on the day after tomorrow. i come out these films really scared about it happening in real life (yes i am a wimp) and i always say i'll never see another one. but i will.

Isn't a disaster movie something with some kind of possibility in reality ,as in flooRAB ,air crashes ,sinking ships,extreme weather?

I dont think alien invasions are quite there yet

Also the only part of Deep Impact that qualifies as a 'disaster' was the decision to spend 1hour 38mins building to just 10 minutes of action.
