Best DBZ movie (and why)

The Ocean dubs of Movies 1, 2 and 3 were perfect. There were no cuts on the DVRAB (and the whole drunk Gohan song was left in), we got the good voice cast, and the original music was used. If the Ocean version of the first three movies got another airing on Cartoon Network one day, I'd be a happy camper. Anyway, I wish they wouldn't treat DBZ like such a pariah nowadays, especially considering that the show brought the station massive amounts of viewers for years. Late night DB:Kai airing?

Care to explain? If you like the Ocean Dub versions better, there's almost a whole DragonBall series dubbed by them, so why can't they be better?

DragonBall Z Movies 1-3 were the highest point in The Ocean Productions, and they've always been SPOCIOUS.

Movie 2 holRAB a special spot for me. The karate action is great and probably the last time we ever see it for the whole franchise, Roshi actually does something other than comic relief, the bad guy henchmen are actually somewhat interesting (unlike post-Movie 3 henchmen, who end up all being the same with different hairstyles), I like Gohan's cloak, we got Ocean Group DBZ cursing, and it has the best showing of Kaiouken ever (not to mention one of only two times Kaiouken is actually pronounced correctly in the dub). Kaiouken > Super Saiyan.

Well, DBZ Ocean dub movie 1 to 3 was the only time I think the cast was taking it seriously. I did saw the DBZ Ocean dub series, and it felt like they wasn't taking it seriously.
I do like Goku's Ocean dub voice, but thats it.

While I do think Broly's popularity could be toned down a lot, the reason I liked the movie itself is that I actually thought the fighting in it was good. It was not any Movie 2. The fighting in that will always be supreme but for what DBZ had become at the time, I think that it had good action sequences.

Taking out Broli in one punch was annoying though. When they transferred the ki to Goku, he couldn't have done a Mega-Kamehameha or something?

Huh? I thought you liked MasakoX's Goku. He's a man.

Anyway, I personally liked "The World's Strongest." Same reason as Duke really. It's the last time we ever see an karate action, and they were great. Roshi actually did something, etc. etc.

I can't remeraber any of the fighting other than Broli slamming people into buildings. Not very exciting, if you ask me...

As for the OHKO...Toei's always been cheap, but you can see as time went by they either stopped paying for competant choreographers/writers or they ran out of ideas. Toei's also always pushed Gok

Look, in the Movie 1 to 3, Ocean Dub took it serious as a real film. It didn't sound lazy or a joke unlike what they dub in the series.
To me, the cast of the DBZ Ocean Dub series felt lazy. They (To me) just see it as a normal T.V show. The dubbing was to goofy, they over act many times and made the worst annoying line ever “Its over 9,00-”, I really don't need to finish it since you get what I am saying.

Even after the Dub, FUNi took over it, the first 1 in a half saga's wasn't that good too. But at least they improve.
I watch the ocean dub version of DBZ through the Cell and Buu and still, nothing. No tone, lazy acting, etc.
But hey, FUNi falls to this level too...at times.
But maybe I'm wrong, I could just be hard headed to think.

Look, I really don't want to talk about Ocean Dub. I get that enough in YT.

I just don't get Ocean Dub. They did a great job at Death Note, but DBZ? Come on.

FUNimation didn't have the cash at the time to license the movies all by themselves and Saban had no input into the movie dubs (aside from the TV version of Tree of Might), so I would imagine Pioneer helped out a bit, hence why they actually had accurate scripts, original music, and the Japanese language track.

Movie 2 is my favorite. Not only it has hand-to-hand fighting, but Roshi and Oolong have major roles, and the plot is not a rehash of other sagas.

I also like Movies 10, 12, 13 and 4, even though the plot is recycled from the Piccolo Daimao arc.

It's been a while since I've seen any of them, but I'll say Movie 13, because really, that was the only movie that actually felt like a movie to me. Second place goes to Movie 12, mainly because it was funny, and then there's Movie 8, which had a decent story, though the villain was completely brain-dead and had just about the most retarded reason for being evil ever.

...For the record, my least favourite movie is (obviously) Movie 11. God, what a terrible movie that was.

Checking the credits, I suppose you might be right. "English Version Produced by Pioneer Entertainment" "Script Conformation by Ward Perry" The Fukunaga's are only listed as 'Production Supervisors', too. Not a single mention of Barry Watson, either.

No sir, no sir. You can't say whether they took it seriously or not. They have to say if they did. You don't know what they were thinking when they did, so you can't say anything like that. The rest of your post is just your "opinion" which I strongly disagree with but I'm not gonna bother. This is getting off-topic so...

My Favorite DragonBall Z Movies, in my like-order:
-Movie #12: Fusion Reborn: The best DragonBall Z movie. Gogeta is the best DragonBall character and Janeraba is the best DragonBall villain. The story was original and fun. -Movie #2: The World's Strongest: Classic. The Ocean Sound Group/Pioneer's dub is the way to go. SPOCIOUS times watching it. The story, animation, and fight scenes were SPOCIOUS.
