Best data plan for using N73?

Ok, I just ordered my brand new N73 today. I live in NYC, and was wondering which company offers the best data plan for the N73... It's either Cingular or Tmobile right? So can anyone enlightened me? i would also want a text plan with it, since I do a decent amount of text. for the internet it would be nice to be able to browse all webs, and get RSS feed. Thanks!

Im very happy with cingulars data plan as i have unlimited internet and 1000 text/mms messages per month....im getting an n73 as well but im posting this from my e61 via gprs and the browsing speed is exceptional.

Yup, USD5.99/mo for unlimited *browsing* (TMobileWeb) does not allow tethering but gives you access to *most* of the internet on your phone. I haven't encountered anything I couldn't get to except those sites the phone could not render so no fault to the network. If all you want to use to browse and check email was your N73, this would work. I use this for all my phone browsing and for checking my POP3 mail from the phone. I use Google Maps and Opera Mini and check my GMail POP account with this plan as well.

TMobile Internet for USD29.99/mo is more for tethering and getting VPN and is a huge superset of the TMobileWeb. I believe it even include HotSpot access. I don't use this so I don't know.

T-Mobile is not very helpful (purposely?) at distinguishing the differences between the 2 and with the huge price difference, it really helps to have fellow HoFoers clarify somewhat what they are.

These were lifted directly from the T-Mobile site.

So you can surf the general web with the 5.99 Tmobile web plan? If so, that's a great deal! What are the differences between that and the 29.99 plan other than being able to get onto the Tmobile hotspots? Thanks for the help.

Here is a thread discussing this. It's pretty old and I think the discussion is around everyone's personal experience of what they get to or not and not an official T-Mobile response. As I said, T-Mobile is really vague (as illustrated above) about what the different plans are. You could also try the T-Mobile employee forums and see if a more recent deiscussion has happened. I personally don't know what the USD30 plan has as the lower cost one is more than sufficient for my use. I think though that the T-Mobile data plans are better than those of any of the other national US carriers.

Some data-driven programs however, won't work with the cheapo plan on T-mobile, cause of the blocked ports. Symella and SymTorrent come to mind, and I think Agile messenger, also. Not sure what else.

I'm on Cingular, $20/month for 1500 SMS, 200 MMS, and unlimited Internet. but you can't have my plan.

agile works wit tzones but as for symella an symtorrent, i think those require 3g right? all the pics i seen of them show a 3g connection an dam tmo dont have it yet

No they don't. They're obviously much faster that way, but they don't. The pics show that cause they were tested with an N80 and N91 in Budapest, which apparently has 3G Coverage.

While we're on the topic, anyone else kinda pissed that freakin BUDAPEST has 3G coverage (and s60 phones) and we don't yet?

Does anyone happen to know if the T-Zones plan will suffice for running the Wayfinder Navigation software with a GPS module??

Thanks for any input on this.

Alan

Agile doesnt work on my N73 t-zones neither any of the messenger apps. Symella No way to connect. Internet radio No way..... Email and browsing works just fine.
