I've been accepted into a graduate program in physics in which I'll be concentrating in astrophysics. Regardless of whether you're in those programs or any other science or technical program (biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, engineering, etc.) I'd like your opinions on what the best laptops for schoolwork and research are.
I'll need to run astronomical software on it and program as well, obviously. I currently have a Mac and I have had unending problems trying to download anything onto it that isn't an apple product, so I'd like to go with something else; plus I've found some of the programs I needed to use as an undergrad were not available for Mac.
