best chemistry movie couples

I hope it hasn't done before, but I thought I'd start a thread in which people listed their favourite movie "couples"in terms of chemistry. For me these are:

1) Kelly McGillis/Harrison Ford in "Witness"
2) Drew Barrymore/Adam Sandler in "The Wedding Singer"
3) Michelle Pfeiffer/Al Pacino in "Johnny and Frankie"
4) Meryl Streep/Clint Eastwood in "The Bridges of Madison County"
5) Ingrid Bergman/Humphrey Bogart in "Casablanca"

over to you! :)

Though thy didn't play a couple per se, I thought the chemistry between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Philippe in Cruel Intentions was pretty strong. Although if this is limited to actual celluoid couples, then you gotta include:

Jennifer Aniston/Jake Gyllenhall in 'The Good Girl', and (i swear, i thought of this before i remembered what happened off screen)

Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie in 'Mr and Mrs Smith'

I think we can extend the "brief" to leading lady/leading man rather than strictly couples :) or even to leading man/leading man - leading lady/leading lady...

in which case I would add:

Susan Sarandon/Geena Davies in "Thelma and Louise"!

Apart from the others mentioned, I'm going to go for:

Leonardo DiCaprio & Vera Farmiga (The Departed)

Scarlett Johannsen & Bill Murray (Lost in Translation)

Natalie Portman & Tim Hutton (Beautiful Girls)

Tom Cruise & Penelope Cruz (Vanilla Sky)

Agree/disagree?

I agree with all of these.

Esp Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Pilippe, I always wanted them two to get together in the movie rather than him and Reese Witherspoon's character.

Just mentioned Jackie Brown in a previous thread and I think the reason why I love that film so much is the chemistry between Pam Grier and Robert Forster.

Jeff Goldblum & Gena Davis in the Fly (relationship off-screen at the time I think as well)
James Stewart & Grace Kelly in Rear Window
I agree with spearmint on John Garfield and Lana Turner

ahhahaha! well, she certainly hid it well. And I'd give an awful lot to be in her shoes in that scene when they dance in the barn to "wonderful world"... I got weak at the knees each time because I'm not a lesbian, lol! :D

Yep, agree full heartedly with that one... unlike the COMPLETE lack of chemistry between Hugh Grant and Angie McDowell in Four Weddings! (go for Kristin Scott Thomas for crying out loud!! lol)
