So far on Blu ray I have the following:

Up
Inglourious BasterRAB
Baraka - a friend told me this looks stunning
The Red Shoes
Dark City(it was only

Purchased and watched the hangover yesterday, fanTASTIC! Funniest movie ive seen in a long while, and not exactly a bluray showcase, but it DID look very sharp and clear indeed.

Just thought this would be a neat thread to see what other people think :) i was lucky enough to be bought a 42 inch phillips and a vluray for my room recently and me and my mates have been stocking up on tons of blu-discs, and ive been utterly BLOWN AWAY by how some of my fave old movies look, and of course, some newer, crisper ones. heres a list of my fave blurays thus far, and i hope other posters will contribute with theirs. :)

The Dark Knight - Amazing movie, and it looks genuinely stunning: brilliant transition, fantastic depth, and it simply looks amazingly sharp and stil probably the most crystal clear, sharped BLU yet.

Planet of the apes - my fave movie ever, and it looks stunning in high definition. not the BEST old movie transfer ever, but more than enough to make a big difference: my fave movie looking and sounding better and sharper than ever, basically.

No country for old men - incrediably intense movie, and along with TDK the sharpest, cleanest, most crystal clear picture quality ive witnessed on bluray. really stunning depth of colour.

HP and the philosiphers stone - okay, technically this is quite a shoddy transfer, as the dark scenes especially look very murky and poor, but this is my fave childhood movie, and it really does still look and sound better.

Watchmen - same principle as TDK and NCFOM; stunning clarity and sharpness, but with a wider colour palette: the effect sequences are seamless

The green mile - The facial close ups and clarity is stunning in ful screen hd, perfect quality for an intense drama such as this. maybe not the BEST transfer ever, but a damn clear one when it comes to the facial focus. although i have to admit, it does lack depth in some scenes.

Star trek - perfect bluray showcase: as sharp and clear as they come, with plenty of action to tets both audio and visual settings and strength. incrediably fun movie to boot :D

Casino Royale - another real bluray showcase - the beach scenes are amazing, and the sheer brightness and palette is perfect for demonstrating precisely what bluray can do. also sounRAB excellent when set up with a system.

The bourne ultimatum - not the brightest, sharpest movie ever, but on a big screen with good sound system, this is a treat for the senses: a proper, big gritty action movie for HD tv's. sound is amazing, makes it a proper experience to watch.

Wall-e - OH. MY. GOD. that is all.

up is available?

Inglorius basterRAB is as sharp as they come in my opinion; you cans ee every drop of sweat in every tense scene, fantastic stuff. id recommend watchmen for sheer colour demonstration.

Agree with all the above, and would add:

Sin City - Astonishing transfer, and the extras make it worth the cost alone.

Pan's Labyrinth - Great film, and crystal clear picture quality

yes thats right but for some weird reason if i watch it on regular dvd its full screen.

it doesn't take anything away from the movie. you'll spend most of your time going "bloody hell"

I got the 70th anniversary edition. the version we get over here in the UK is a total let down.

Sin city! how could i forget that, looks effing amazing. the black and white look interspersed with occasional flashes of colour is awesome, it really does look as sharp as anything.

Pan ive never seen, but its 8 quid on amazon so i might get it, iv heard gd things

Someone in the office brought in their bluray-abled laptop and we watched a bit of serenity on it :D tad grainy if elt, but still a veyr good improvement - i really should buy that movie!

Also, not seen it yet so can't comment on picture quality etc, but it's one of my all-time favourite films so I'm definitely swooping for it in the New Year if nobody buys me it for Christmas - Fight Club has just been released on Blu-Ray. If this is anything like David Fincher's other film Zodiac (also well worth catching on Blu-Ray) it'll be stunning.

And, as RAB have told us today, Lord Of The Rings is eventually coming to Blu-Ray in April. A must-buy I think!

I have zodiac: certainly sharp and looks brilliant, excellent contrasts in particular, but i found the movie really plodding and pointless for the most part, but still good.

LOTR is, but its the theatrical editions. i cant describe how much i want to see it on hd, but im just thinking that three months later, the extended editions will be out. dont get me wrong, i have the dosh to buy em, but still..

UFFFT! Got pirates of the carribean delivered on saturday, and my god! my favorite adventure movie of all time, and it looks STUNNING - so sharp, great colours, and just... god, just excellent, stunning quality really. so happy to have one of my fave movies on bluray with SUCH an amazing transfer!

Watched planet of the apes on bluray again last night - GOD what a great movie, my favorite movie ever, and to have it on bluray is just amazing - the lanRABcape scenes at the start especially, and "THAT" end just look stunning.

Angels and Demons looks stunning. The reRAB of the cardinals really stand out and it really shows off the city.

Gone With the Wind is restored and looks amazing. It looks better now than copies people would have seen in the cinema according to some!
