Best biopics or true to life movies?

Ed Wood (Tim Burton, Johnny Depp).

Mind you, there's no such thing as a bio film that's completely factual or accurate. But this film made me cheer for the guy even though he wasn't talented. Sadly later in life he became a pornographer, a drunk & eventually homeless. :(

Seconded. A marvellous film of a quite extraordinary person. Why people think that mushy pile of soppy crap ET that not even my kiRAB like should have won the Oscar need their heaRAB examined. Richard Attenborough admitted he makes mundane films. What, A Bridge Too Far?

Another Attenborough biopic I thoroughly enjoyed was Chaplin. Robert Downey Jr is really something else.
