Excluding nuclear weapons, who do you think has the top armies in the world? Let's say the situation is that both armies are placed on two identical pieces of land the size of, say, Ohio, and they have to fight each other and capture the others territory. What are the top 10 in this scenario?
Also, if you feel some armies are particularly well trained and nasty, but rank lower (or do not rank) due to their small size, you can mention them!
