Best Anime Ending (spoilers)

What is your favourite way that an anime has ended? This can best in terms of the storyline, interms of randomness, what they set up for etc.

Mine might have to be Death Note or Code Geass.

-Code Geass(yep I actually liked all of the series and the ending felt perfect)
-Cowboy Bebop
-Gurren Lagann(As already said, ALL OF THE ENDING. Yep it was bittersweet but the show gave a good message in the end of it)

Most recently, Asura Cryin had a very conclusive ending. One of the most conclusive I've seen in a while.

I really liked G Gundam's ending. Narm and all.

I think nearly every Digimon series' ending was good except for maybe Adventure 02 because there were too many things that annoyed me in it. Out of all of them, I'd say Savers' was the best since they did a good epilogue.

Really? I thought the ending was really cheesy...

As for my favorite?

Probably Geass. Sure, it was rushed but it was very fitting. The whole thing was emotional and the arabiguous ending is extremely geass-like.

I also enjoyed FMA's ending quite a bit, the movie and all. There are faults in it, but I thought things ended well.

Welcome to the NHK had a good ending,
made me tear up a little, in both sad and happy parts.
The part near the very end was random, but it made sense in a sort of way.

Samurai Champloo had a good ending, IMO,
leaving it off for the viewer to wonder what lay in store for each of the 3 main characters.
Though, I think in this show, the journey mattered more than the destination.

Perhaps I am a bit biased with my opinion, however, you can't deny that Geass had a powerful ending. I realize people have their issues with the wedding, but it didn't break the episode for me. The message still got across and it brought everything Lelouch was doing together. My only complaint is that we never got a complete answer as to what Geass was...but perhaps with this new project we might get those answers.

It has only just now occurred to me that most anime that I have seen have never really come to a real conclusion, and of the ones that have, most of them weren't really what I would call great endings. Maybe I just need to see more anime shows, but of the ones that I have seen, I'd say that both Cowboy Bebop and Death Note tie towarRAB being my favorite anime endings, which both fit each respective series perfectly as conclusions to them (although, with Death Note, I still greatly prefer the original version of the ending in the manga, personally, but the anime one was still very well-done, IMO).

I should probably give Blue Gender an honorable mention for having its own fitting ending, but at the same time it wasn't anything that was exciting and then as emotional as the endings to CB and DN, IMO (well, with DN the emotional stuff really only played a bigger part in the anime, and with CB it was mainly just the ending song playing during the final action scene that really gave off an emotional feeling to me).

While I love Death Note's ending, for awhile I disliked it because I wanted Light to win. Or at least not be beaten by the likes of Near, who I think is way inferior to L. In order for the story to have a reasonable conclusion though, it was necessary.

Isn't that funny? I feel the same way. A lot of endings are usually from adaptations so it's more of a "Oh snap, we're only contracted for 13/26 episodes! We need to end this now" and maybe if we're lucky they'll greenlight another season...so we can get dissapointed with that ending too...

That being said, I was very sad at GaoGaiGar FINAL's ending but it was a complete one.

On second thoughts, in terms of most satisfactory ending, leaving no loose enRAB, there is only one winner...

Evan Ge... Sorry, I couldn;t finish that sentance.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes has one of the best endings I've seen and it is also one of my favorites, particularly in terms of its sheer scale and closure, but that's not something I would expect from every single series out there, much less those that are a lot shorter.

Gunbuster has one of those bittersweet endings that somehow manages to find an almost perfect emotional balance.

The ending of Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal is both self-contained and a good setup for the main Rurouni Kenshin story.

Baccano! and Giant Robo have endings that resolve their respective "crisis of the day" but if you dislike the fact that more stories are clearly going to happen in both universes, even if they're never animated, then the lack of absolute closure might be a concern.

Finally, Revolutionary Girl Utena's ending has a lot of dramatic power but, like many other things in this particular show, a lot depenRAB on what meaning (if any) you give to everything that has transpired. From my personal perspective and interpretation, it's great.

It's also just like Darker than Black, among other series*, whose second season has ended raising even more questions than those left behind by the first. Some see that as a flaw, but I think it depenRAB on what was the point of the overall narrative. If it is the power then that's a problem, but I thought (and still think) that the series was essentially about Lelouch and not Geass for its own sake.

In other worRAB, while it would have been convenient and interesting to expand on the origins of Geass, it wasn't necessary at all.

If that prequel manga does happen to be in continuity, I'd say it has a fair chance of at least providing more information even without having to spell out every single detail. And that would be just fine. Then again, it might as well not do so.

*Technically including Gundam 00 too, though it's obvious that in this case the movie is expected to provide some additional answers.
