Best and Worst lyricist

3 pages? Is that it? I love discussing lyrics/people who have those ways with worRAB.

Well..

Lennon/Mccartney, Morrissey, Ian Curtis, Alex Turner, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Kurt Cobain.

And I can't believe no one has mentioned this guy - Nick Cave.
I'm not really a fan of his, and haven't heard much of his stuff. (Just the 1 album)
But the man seems like an absolute brilliant story teller.
 
Can't argue with Lennon as one of the best.
I also happen to be quite fond of Thom Yorke's writing, too.

As for the worst - Too many to mention in one post. Although, for some reason, one that has always stuck with me as one of the worst lines ever was by Dr. Dre, "Never let me slip, 'cause if I slip, then I'm slippin'." (Ain't Nothin' But a G Thang"
 
When it comes to story tellers, Chris Clavin makes me all ears. There aren't a lot of artists that can do that for me. I have always been fond of Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Beck's for their colourful imagery.

Simply because of American Pie, I'm going to say Don McLean. That song IS culture. I also really enjoy listening to Jim Morrison.

Klaus Meine and Herman Rarebell from The Scorpions are the greatest in my opinion, as for the worst lyrics: Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy

Lots of mentions of Morrissey but Moz ripped off the independent cool, music, haircut and lyrics of Orange Juice so I'm going to have to mention Edwyn Collins if only to reference the source.

'The Campaign For Real Rock' is such a great lyric.
