Best and Worst Film Ever

I am sure this thread has no doubt been done to death, but as there is no search function I am not sure.

What is everyones best and worst film? and I mean your actual favourite rather than something you think sounRAB worthy like a 10 hour subtitled polish flim in black and white.

For best I'd go with Mortal Kombat :o Just love the film. Even though many think it shite.

For worst it's got to be I Spit on Your Grave. A nasty, nasty film with no reedeming features whatsoever. Just a woman being gang raped over and over again, then a crap "revenge" bit where she kills them. As bad as it sounRAB.

I'm so sorry, I didn't realise you watched LiT thinking it was a comedy. You wouldn't have liked it then.

And whoever said it, I wasn't defending Armagaedon, but in the whole scale of worst films ever, it doesn't register. And it's not a great cast misused, it's Steve Buscemi and a bunch of s**tkickers.

Best ever: Blade Runner, any version.
worst ever: Titanic, (cheered for the iceberg), or anything starring Robin Williams
( I assume you mean genuine movies as opposed to the no-budget crap like they show on the Horror Channel etc.)

The best film i can think of right now: House of sand and fog

Worst: I watched an 80's film last week called Chopping Mall. It was not good. Alone in the dark also

I want to kill you. Not in a slow tortuous way, but kill you dead all the same.

;)

Kidding obviously, but LOTsoddingR and DPS??? I want to lend you good films with no oblgation to return them to me, as a call of duty.

If you're talking best film (as opposed to favourite) then I'd probably go for Leon, or possibly Shawshank Redemption.

(My favourite would be Star Wars, but by no stretch of the imagination is it the best :D )

As for worst, I've only ever walked out of one film... Dune. If you want to argue that I can't have appreciated a film that I walked out of (also should point out that I was way underage at the time  ) then sorry, but Lost in Translation is the worst film I've ever sat all the way through

ISOYG was made as low budget crap, that you'd see on the horror channel if it hadn't been made so long ago, and been made a cause celebre by the censors. It's not a good film, but it's better than Mortal Kombat.

Difficult to say the worst, but Wild Wild West is utter faeces.

Breaking the Waves is the best film i've seen for many years tbh.

But it's hilarious for all of the above.

Armageddon is brilliant because it is SO BAD. And because it's so campy you can't help but wonder if that was the intention.

Pearl Harbour on the other hand is equally overblown - but so po-faced and desperately trying to be meaningful.

In the end - it's quite offensive - suggesting that the same two men played a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain, Pearl Harbour and the Pacific Campaign. If it was played for laughs that might work - but portraying it so seriously quite frankly made me want to wretch.

My fave, purely based on the amount of times I have sat through it, by choice I might add is Back to the Future. Top film that still stanRAB up today.

My absolute worst film of all time has to be a little known film called 'Slipstream', starring of all people - Mark Hamill made around '87, '88 I think.

I still can't believe that I sat through it 'till the end. I was probably thinking, "If this don't get better in a bit, I'm gonna turn this s**t off." And lo and behold - it finished.

Oh yes it is...
Excellent cast totally misused
Awful script
Awful direction
Total lack of emotion.

The difference between Armageddon and Pearl Harbour is literally water and air.

LOTR is by far a better set of films than Armageddon, so if you want no obligation good films, contact me.... I won't send you copies of Armageddon, The Fast and the Furious, Con-Air and The Rock to watch. :P

(I'm only teasing Ratinho... you like LiT so your fine in my book, but any defence of Bruckheimer is a declaration of war in my eyes!)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 21 Grams, Lost In Translation, 2001....
are you people just popcorn munching brainless fanatics of the church of Bruckheimer or something?!?!

Just because you cannot understand them, does not make these films bad!
