Best and worst childrens book adaptations? (series)

Howl's Moving Castle is a great film, but as an adaptation it is mediocre.

Worst adaptation has to be Series of Unfortunate Events. I imagine Olaf to be a genuine jerk, but in the film he was just an annoyance. Plus jamming three books into one film gets confusing.

Well Tintin was a comic book so i guess i'll say Tintin, although i'm sure theres others. The Worst Witch was based on a book i think... oh but thats live action. Hmm... animation.... let me think... i have a terrible memory but i bet theres a few i haven't remembered that exist.

The worst is the live action film adaption of Cat In The Hat a few years back. It was nothing like the book. CITH did not look like the CITH we all know and love.

I agree, I found Violet's design in the movie to be very pretty, but despite the movie was just kinda... all over the place. But that isn't animated, so that's off-topic, UNLESS this topic needs to be moved to the Entertainment Board to make it more broad.

Same response on the off-topic thing (Although the topic itself is kinda vaguely explained), but I do agree. Mike Myers pretty much caused Dr. Seuss to turn in his grave. No, not just turn. He did a 360 in his grave.

If we are solely talking about TV series here, and not movies, then i guess i cant mention some of the lesser good Disney films (not that there are a lot of them, mind you). So instead ill mention the The Little Mermaid TV series. The movie was wonderful, but the series was just so flat and not emotionally engaging at all. I also dislike how they changed Sebastian from the strict, snobby character we saw in the movie to basically just an extremely generic dumb, cowardly sidekick.
