best amp for 2 kicker l7 12s?

hi i just bought 2 kicker l7 12s in a ported ground shaker box and i was wondering what amp or amps would get the best slam out of these. im thinking of getting a kicker zx1500 amp for both subs or maybe a kicker zx1000 for each one. would powering each one with a zx1000 be too hard on them and damaging?
