Best Album Of All Time (revealed)

Congratulations for not explaining how those albums have not been extremely influential and giving examples of ones that had a bigger impact.

I mean, "Nuh uh you're dum cuz you listn to progzorz"
Isn't that the conversation we're suppose to have?

I couldn't disagree with these statements more fiercely.

1. MCR has nothing to do with the acclaim that Night at the Opera has found.

2. I don't care if we call it electroclash, tags don't make thing sgae poorly, bad music does.

Best album eva!!11!! is Iron Maiden's 'Nuraber of the Beast', considering its influence, but my top 5 are:

1) Blind Guardian - A Night at the Opera.
2) Gamma Ray - Rebellion in Dreamland.
3) Rhapsody - Symphony of Enchanted LanRAB (Part 2).
4) Kamelot - The Fourth Legacy.
5) Nightwish - Century Child.

EDIT: ****, this wasn't an opinions thread. Apologies.

Apparently you missed my "Biggest Fanboi Evar" self-tag. I can safely assume that I've listened to every Queen album moreso than any 3 board merabers corabined can say they've heard Bohemian Rhapsody in their lifetime. I take pride in my Fanboidom as they are the only band I've really been loyal to for the better part of 90% of my life. While the first statement seems overblown, it should make clear my love for the chaps from the island, eh govs?

Also, Queen never had to force anything - it may seem that way because of their style, their show etc... I think you are putting down Night At The Opera because you took stock in a trendy article or what someone who you respect said about it. I bet if you took a listen with un-jaded ears, you will find a masterpiece in all of it's own right...

That being said, Sheer Heart Attack is my favorite album all around, Hammer to Fall and the Prophet's Song are my favorite songs... but if I had to take one album on an island with me to die with... it would be A Night At The Opera.

I can dig that.

Another point, as someone who has listened to the majority of Queen's back catalogue. Why pick Night At The Opera? Apart from its one defining song it is awful and overly pompous. Queen's debut was far less dull aswell.

Edit : Screw the Palatino Linotype. Too much hassle

please, nirvana would be nowhere near as big or talked about today if it wasnt for Kurts suicide, morbid, but true. his death has immortalized a band that made one decent record and a couple of mediocre recorRAB. One good album does not compare to at least 4 great albums. And plus, without the pixies, sonic youth, melvins or mudhoney, there'd be no nirvana and no marketable term known as "grunge". Kurt and co. merely made a movement mainstream, much like the strokes did with the garage rock scene, and i guarantee if casablancas popped his cloggs everybody would be ho-ha'ing over the greatness of a band, like nirvana, who made one very good album and 2 average at best.

Well it would help to include them in the overall picture, when it comes down to a best of all time chart.
I'd say the average 18 year old with a modicum of taste, would be able to pick at least 20 albums before even considering 'Definately Maybe'.
Really these charts shouldn't include the term, "all time", in them.
To do so, only makes it laughable and hard to take seriously, judging by some of the albums included in that list.
