Best 3 Foreign Language Movies

The Leopard-(il gattopardo)
The Desert of the Tartars.-(il Deserto dei Tartari)
Rome, Open City or Lives of others....

...also Fellini films, and I still haven't seen 'Gomorrah' or 'City of God' yet, so I may change my mind :)

I have so many but if I can only list three:

Pan's Labyrinth
Central Station
Etre et Avoir

All three have me in tears for the majority of the film!

1) Pan's Labyrinth (Spain) - it moved me to tears, and not many films can do that to me. Just the music alone makes me want to cry. It's such a beautiful film and it's something that I always recommend to others.

2) La Lengua de las Mariposas (Spain) - this is another film which I love. It's truly a masterpiece, showing life before the Spanish Civil War. It's a beautiful film showing the innocence of children.

3) El Orfanato (Spain) - a clever film that made me think.

I'm a language student, so most of the films I watch are French and Spanish films. Honourable mentions go to La Haine, Mar Adentro, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Volver and Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (very moving film).

Chungking Express
Sitcom
City of God
5x2 (don't watch when going through heartbreak though:cry:)
Festen
Colonel Redl
Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown
Betty Blue

I love foreign language films and have lots of favourites!

I love it but remember then boyfriend saying it was awful and that all French films are about people cheating.
My jaw drops when their wedding section is shown!
