berm python won't eat anything please help?

my friend has a birmyse python,
he got bit by a rat 2 months ago, he won't eat dead food, or mice. he's 5ft and hasn't eaten seance then.
he used to eat a medium rat a week.
how can we help it??
 
Has the snake been checked by a vet? He could have gotten an infection from the rat bite.
I'm not a snake expert, but one of my teachers loves snakes, and won't teach us anything but snakes and snake care, so perhaps I could be of some help.
Take it to the vet for a checkup, and ask the vet to check for any parasites. Some snakes (I don't know if it affects all of them) lose their appetite during the colder weather, so make sure that the temperature in the snake enclosure is correct and not too cold. Also, snakes will not eat when they are getting close to shedding their skin.
