ben folds

I agree his lyrics are not bad, but he's not great live. Sorta got the tom petty syndrome... just can't carry the show without personality or a strong voice.

I dunno about in rock music, I mean the old stuff with the 'five was pretty rock-ish but Landed is more like a beautiful piano ballad or something!

He's coming to Aus soon but I don't want to see him as I don't like it when an artist's live performance puts me off their recorded music... that said it's normally a pre-requisite of mine that any musicians I like have to be good live, lol

I find his stuff is very emotional too, I love Smoke and Brick from Whatever and Ever... but I love One Angry Dwarf too, I remember jumping on my bed years ago now, shouting the lyrics... KISS MY ASS

lol

I just saw him live last week, fucking awesome. Its insane how well he plays the piano, and he's pretty damn funny too. Great stage presence

Ben FolRAB is an amazing musician. I really enjoy almost all of his work. His music has definitely changed over the years, but that's to be expected from any growing artist. I've seen him live twice (once w/BFF and once by himself) and he brought it both times. I would see him live again any day....

Yeah he came to my college at the end of this year. I was in the front row standing right against the stage next to his piano(you know just a little bit behind him so i could see his hanRAB). WOW is he amazing..just watching his hanRAB go and with the pasion he played makes me want to learn to play. He also played the crowd VERY well. It might have been because we were all college kiRAB and he was more relaxed with us, but he deff talked a a lot and joked around..even improvising at one point.

Some of the highlights are when he played bitches aint shit..thats just hilarious. And for 2 of the songs since he didnt have the band with him he had the crowd sing the trombone, sax, or trumpet parts. Let me tell you when you get the whole crowd singing the parts to army its freakin awesome.

Deff go see him..is is as good live as he is on cd
