If you are having problems with Bell TV technical support, I would suggest that rather then waiting on the telephone and then getting to talk to some far offshore support site, try using Bell's Online Support Chat function.

I have used it a couple of times within the last month (once about a billing problem and the other about the 9242 EHD problem) and have received very good and prompt service which (I don't believe) I would never have received via a telephone call...

Try it! I'm sure you will like it too!

US customers please don't use this service, they use IP tracking software to pinpoint your location!

I've used the chat service several times. It is much faster than phoning it in, plus it's nice because you can easily copy and paste the entire contents of your conversation to your computer for future reference .

I wouldn't doubt it for a minute. The day after I called StarChoice for installation Bell called to try and save me money on the phone and internet service I have with them. No way this was a coincidence. Not only that but when a friend of mine started using Skype, "Bell Mobility" called him the same day. You are being monitored, there is no doubt. IP checking is vey common...

Happy surfing

I have used bell chat and they helped me no problem. I don't doubt that they track IP's. But I doubt that they track IP's to catch Americans who use there service. You can't call bell using there 800 number in America, but if you call using the direct number there is no problem. I would not believe that if you used Bell chat that they would turn around and say "your IP is showing that your in USA so I can't help you" because when I used it they helped me no problem.

It happened to me while chatting online, the CSR told me my IP address and that I was using Brighthouse Internet Service and was located in Sanford Florida, that is exactly where the Brighthouse office is located. Myabe I was just the lucky one who was picked to check the IP.

Use your own best judgement if you want to chat on line.

And what did they do?
Express Vu use is forbidden outside Canada, procedure is they should disconnect the receiver they know is in USA, or if you only have one terminate the account

They actually did nothing at all. I ignored the post and kept on the subject on why I was chatting with them.

I just looked, it is working. Once you click on the chat button it takes a few seconds for the "online chat is currently available" to show up.

It also does not seem to work in Firefox for me, so I always use Internet Explorer when I use it.

If I change my location to Ontario, Chat becomes enabled.

I guess people in BC must have no problems :)

Albertans must not have any problems either, as the chat button is greyed out and unselectable if your location is set to Alberta.
