Hi, can someone help me clarify something?

I'm just getting hd and the channels I want are TSN, RDS, DISCOVERY, TLC. What I would like to do is get Sports 1, the RDS package and then 4 HD themes for 10$.

The Bell tech said I couldn't do this I needed to get News and Learning 1 for DISCOVERY and TLC. Also in order to get TLC I needed to get Variety 1 because SHOWCASE is bundled with TLC in the HD package.

I'm really confused :(

I really just want

Digital standard
Sports 1
RDS french package
4 HD themes

Is this possible?

I strongly believe thier is confusion as to who gets what. And the CSR's don't know. I'm not sure what channels will be added/taken away. BELL ARE YOU LISTENING/DO YOU CARE. I don't know what to expect anymore. Channels come and go. I'm left scratching my head as to what I should get/what am I paying for. One thing is certain my monthly programming bill goes up.

I got another tune, I recently just got BEV HD installed (April 2nd). I asked the rep if I could get Discovery in HD only and not the SD channel. The rep said that I have to get the SD channel as well in order to get the HD. I asked her if this was the same with all the other channels and she said yes.

Another question, I was wondering why I'm not getting SportsnetP and SportsnetO HD when I have the regular SD channels subscribed. I got TSN1 and 2 in HD when i got the SD Sports package. This is weird. I'll probably call the rep tomorrow again...sigh

I think I'm going to give up my $10. hd value pack and subscribe to the any 5 hd themes (there are only 5 themes) for $15. That's an increase but I can save money by cancelling my digital 5 themes which I pay $23. for and never look at, and subscribe to the Sports 1 theme for $8. That's the only digital theme I need to get the hd channels I want. This gives me all the hd channels except premium movie channels, some French channels, and Raptors TV. My bill will actually go down.

I can't tell right now if it is gone for me or not as I am at work, but I too sub to TLC SD and don't sub to extra HD channels, and was getting TLC HD for the longest time.

So I checked:
http://www.bell.ca/web/tv/en/on/pdfs/channels/channels.pdf

It is part of the More HD Variety theme pack. It is not listed as part of the More Free HD theme pack.

trainerdude, are you sure you're on the new HD theme packs, and not the old $10 HD Value pack?

Just checking HD theme packs and found .To get the channels in HD sport pack 1 You have to sub to SD sport 1&2 and HD 1 = $15.50 wow! and they claim you get All 5 HD theme packs for $15 ?

Sportsnet is in its own HD themepack, seperate from TSN, so that might explain why you have one and not the other.

No idea why you're getting HD TSN if you just have the SD TSN subscribed, as far as I know that's not supposed to happen. If Bell can't figure it though, it's hardly likely that we're going to

Turns out I've only lost it on my 6100, but not my 9242. Not even in the guide on the 6100. Further strangeness from Bell.

According to their brochure, yes it is.

Only the sports HD themes require the SD version. (note #9 in the fine print)

Just curious about new price structure. I have just condensed my programming themes. I kept track of the channels I watched for about a couple of weeks. I was able to lower my programming down to 5 themes and the west coast feed. I was able to lower my bill down to $55.00 plus tax. I have no movies and I don't have a HD Tv. So are they going to be moving any channels from Tier two to Tier one?

Hey guys...newbie here.

I've had SD expressvu for a long time and just bought an HDTV (retentions deal of free 1 year HD PVR rental and 30% off).

I'd like some advice on the type of package to get.

Currently I have:
Ultimate 7 Pack for $67.99
• Movies (East)
• Networks
• Sports
• News
• Variety
• More Variety
• Learning
• Lifestyle

I kept the same package and they offered 6 months of full HD programming for free and I can decide what to do after that.

Is there a better route to go or does that sound pretty standard?

BTW the retentions person was not able to tell me how to get the bundle pricing....would I qualify? I have home phone with Rogers and Satellite but not internet.

Should I "modify" this to add the HD content I want (sports like TSN HD, golf Channel HD, cnn) or would I be better off starting with HD Essentials? Or is it better to go with SD essentials and add packages?

I'm sure these are really noob questions but I've been reading the bell site for 1 hour and i'm so lost.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

$58 from Bell. Digital Basic + Sports Pack 1 + HD 5 pack includes all HD channels except for HBO and the movies

you have to wait a while on the phone to get the CSR to agree to this because of course they are trying to up sell you in a bigger pack but it can be done ;)

i will like to know if I can choose silverscreenclassic stand alone channel instead of tacking the package?

I stand corrected on Sports 1 SD. This is one you can't drop without affecting your HD because of TSN's requirements.

Ha, I just called, and the sales rep told me it would not work. I ask, please can you at least try? Bam it works :D Thanks

Now you have signed up for the new HD themes whats stopping bell from putting Showcase HD and HGHD on free preview till march. When the free preview is over say, you now have to pay more because the free preview is over.
