Bell TV Current HD Channel Listing

The following is a list that I have compiled of HD Channels after the June 10th additions. I have been unable to figure out how Bell TV comes up with 86 channels so please PM me with any channels that I have missed and I will add them to the list.

FWIW, for English Canada, I get 47 Full time HD Channels consisting of 22 HD Network and Local stations, 13 Specialty Channels, 7 Sports Channels, and 5 movie Channels.

Taking out the Time-shifted, channels, and channels which are 90% simulcast (CTV and Global), I come up with 34 full time HD Channels.

I will make note of any changes by editing this post.

According to Bell, this list is accurate. The 86 number comes from what I call the seasonal sports channels. For example, NFLST counts as six channels.

Hugh,

For some reason I get 87 channels with 872 being duplicated. What did I overlook/miss ?

RG6u, I have edited out your list since it just replicates what I have listed above and makes the thread harder to follow. If you say you got 87 with a duplicate then you have matched the Bell number of 86.

Thanks Hugh the new additions to the list are so stunningly, unbelievably poor..... waste of bandwidth. The Calgary additions help a bit on time zone issues if you have conflicts on recording...thats about it.

I calculated and got what Hugh got in total numbers.

Some of you have been recommending that Bell drop SD services when an HD service becomes available. Maybe additions such as those today will help to make this more practical eventually (i.e. more cities in more time zones now have their major services covered by an HD channel). At the monent however I agree that these changes amount to very little. Maybe having CBC HD will give Montreal fans a few more HD/WS Canadiens games on Sat. night?

Shouldn't the new Calgary HD channels be named something other than "West" in the network section? They don't have the exact same primetime schedule as the Vancouver channels, since they are not in the same time zone. Maybe something similar to the Sportsnet terminology - Vancouver is Pacific and Edmonton/Calgary is West.
The Montreal stations are in the same time zone as Toronto, no problem to categorize them both as East.

Posts deleted in clean up of thread. Please restrict discussions on this thread to the Bell HD programming line-up.

Any chance of getting the current corresponding guide channel number for these channels?
