Bell TV, CHCH and City tv

Greetings.

I have Bell TV, one HD receiver and 2 SD.

I live in the Hamilton Ont. area and cannot get 218 CHCH or City TV Toronto on SD, I can however get City Vancouver!

On HD I can get City Toronto.

I have called Bell a few times, downloaded new guides, checked signal strength all to no avail. A friend of mine who lives 5 minutes away receives CHCH fine. One representative told me it was due to timeshifting! I live 20 minutes from the station...

The stations do not appear at all on the on screen guide (i.e. they are not red). Anybody had a similar experience?

If you have tried the usual fix's that Bell CSR's try and they have failed, along with the fact that these channels are missing on all your receivers, tells me that Bell need to remove all programming from your receivers and then re-apply it. That would almost certainly fix the problem.

Whether you live next door to a station or on the opposite coast is of no relevance as we all get the signals from the exact same location, many miles above the Equator.
 
You may not have the English basic package - Digital Standard. Sounds to me like you may be signed up for Base Numerique.

You would have to switch over. A little more money, but more channels.

Sometimes, agents don't notice what basic programming package a customer is signed up for.
