Ive heard you can have regular shocks installed instead of the electric ones for $1,000. Is this a good idea and how can I find a shop to do it?

YOU DONT HAVE TO USE THE ELECTRIC ONES. THATS JUST FOR HEAVIER LOADING. KEEPS THE CAR AT AN EVEN HEIGHT. ITS A LUXORY. 3300 IS OUTRAGEOUS. BUY THE PARTS ON YOUR OWN. I'D RECOMMEND NAPA AUTO PARTS, THEY ARE PRIVATE OWNER OWNED. SO THEY GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO GET YOU THE BEST PRICE. RATHER THAN AUTOZONE OR SOMETHING COMMERCIAL WHERE IF THEY DONT OFFER IT YOU WONT GET IT. NAPA WILL GET IT! THAN TAKE IT TO AN "ase" (AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE EXCELLENCE) SHOP AND GET IT DONE. YOU WILL PAY AROUND 600-800$ TOTAL INCLUDING PARTS AND LABOR. YOU CAN ACTUALLY GO TO "NAPA AUTO PARTS ONLINE" AND CHECK IF THEY HAVE IT AVAILABLE IN THERE WHAREHOUSE. YOU WILL GET THE PRICE AND AVAILABILITY INSTANTLY

yes you could do this.

3300 is a MAJOR rip off.

definitely dont let them do the job

strut replacement labor should be no more than about 250 bucks labor plus parts cost

buy the struts at local parts store and ask around and find someone local to do the job, someone who has their own shop and repairs cars on the side maybe but has been doing it for many years and has references.
