Bell ExpressVu Retentions?

Yes. I work at Bell and I messed up when calculating.

I will be paying $36.95.

Good thing SKYDISH reps don't know I get 35% off my programming or I would have never been able to pull off the consumer deal. Installed yesterday and now have 5 tuners coming into my home with an extra available if I add another 9242 in the future.

I love OasisHD, TreasureHD, and EquatorHD.

VuPoint was my installer and I watched him while doing it to make sure he did a good job. I get a lot of complaints about VuPoint from customers but he was very professional, didn't leave any mess, and even let me keep my old dish so I can sell it. :)

In the case of a death the account is cancelled as soon as Express Vu receives the death certificate. The 30 days policy doesn't apply. Also as soon as they receive the death certificate they are ale to transfer the equipement if requested

Nobody can say for sure. If you aren't ready to leave then the choice is harder. If you really are prepared to leave, then see what happens. Seems pretty low though compared to what others seem to get.

Personally, unless I was actually leaving, I wouldn't go this route. If I was actually leaving, no offer would be good enough.

I am "renting" a 9242 (actually free rental that runs out at the end of the year) and now I want to buy one at $299. Been a loyal customer for over 10 years. Even willing to sign up for 2 years if I have to. Looks like the only way is to cancel and join again. No wonder everyone hates Bell and is dropping them like a hot potato any chance they get (home phone, wireless, TV , Internet, whatever).

Did you have to pay $599 and get $300 in programming credits or did they just charge you $299 directly ?

My mother who has Videotron was price increased lately, I think that the increase was less then the BEV price of 4$. Rogers according to one of the notes posted on the site got price increased too and Cogeco as I could see in the Cogeco forum got preice increased too.

Woudn't that makes most of the major TV provider?

I got about a year left on my contract i think cant i just phone them up and say hey shaw is offering to buy me out and give me a hdpvr for free and ask them what do can to do keep me as a customer because i love bell expressvu so much wink wink

The CSR told me it would show up as a credit on my next bill after the install. I assume it is a deposit for having to send out a tech to do the receiver swap?

Any deal for your 9200 gets them off the hook when they go mpeg4. You have to guess if you will be offered more or less down the road "Good Luck"
Thanks for the option of purchase for $300 after 12 months I think I will try to use that when my free 12 month 9242 rental runs out.

Most of the time they make that offer for a 9242 rather than the 6141, so you can likely do better.

I know retentions is for retaining customers but often they are the ones who can give the extra good deals to those thinking about leaving another company. Is this the same with Bell? As a new customer will I get a better deal over the phone or in store?

I just followed the prompts I believe it was 1 for english, 2 for other inquiries, my phone number, 3 for cancellations and then 4 for cancellations again.

You exactly right I've always found that if your good to them they usually are good to you, mainly because 3/4 the day they get yelled at lol. I just said basically I want to stay with Bell, really like the service but the local cable company has a really good offer they have been all over you about. I got out of the last few months of our contract and got the upgrade and discount etc.

That said, the CSR on the line I had was a good guy. Started talkin Raps by the end.

New customers usually fair better with hardware credits save your complaining until your a customer . :D

Having to call every 6 months for 50% off is a wee pain, but I always get an agent within 30 seconds calling Bell or Telus. I'll only stay with Bell if they continue to match what I would be paying from Shaw or Telus in a bundle (which Bell does not really offer where I live).

Shaw, even though I fully intended to take them up on their win-back offer, took so long to get through that I gave up.

OT: They switched to a Cisco call centre and lost the nice ETA and call back features they had before on their NEC system.

What's a brother gotta do to get a deal?
My rental contract expires next month and with it, so do my promotional discounts ($10 off, $2.50 4100s and free mag - woohoo). I have called twice to let Bell know that I'll be returning all of my rental equipment at the end of my contract ("how do I return it?") and no one seems to be picking up that I'm threatening to end my subscription.

All I want is a deal! What is the key phrase to get them to offer me something to stay? My father-in-law would say "what will you give me to stay with Bell?" If that's what it takes, I'll give it a try.

Sorry, existing.

Can get a HD PVR for 1/2 price being new...... but existing..... I will read this thread.

Hey,

I phoned them on this offer. They will take trade on any receiver, it does not have to be a HD receiver. He also said he needed a statement dated within the last 30 days. He also said the receiver had to be activated, it cant be one just sitting in the basement.

If I had a receiver to give them I would take the deal then cancel. Nothing like a free HD PVR.

Better yet, tell them what the real issues are. Maybe then Bell will get the message. Don't accept a deal until the retentions department calls. They seem to have more pull than regular CSRs about real customer issues.

So I called back yesterday and was offered a free 9242 rental for 1 year. Since I haven't been taking advantage of HD, I opted for a free 5900 rental for 2 years and only went on a new 1 year contract. Not a bad outcome in my mind. It's better than the "free" HD receiver that Cogeco offers to their new customers (only when you buy a new tv).

Time now to go through the 5900 threads.
