Bell ExpressVu Remote Problem

I bought a Dish Network UHF Pro remote off eBay for my dual-tuner receiver (I already bought the same remote before for tuner 1) but this time for the first tuner which currently has an IR remote. When I press any buttons on the new remote, it just controls the second tuner so how can I program it to work in the room next to the receiver?

Neonfire,

Don't quote me on this but you could try this.

Remove the battery cover. Now fip the mote over so you see the keys again. At the bottom of the remote there is a tab that is sort of crescent shaped. Pull this tab out and off the remote. It should slide right out. Now flip it over and slide it back in. Replace the battery cover and try the remote.

I remember someone telling me about this but can't remember exactly why. It was a long time ago. I checked my remote (a Bell remote) and the reverse side of the tab says "UHF" on it so I think it only broadcasts UHF and no IR.

It's worth a shot.

yes it sounds like you have a remote set at UHF mode. Flipping the tab at bottom of remote should change it to an IR remote.

I will add that when you change over tab on front of remote, you must hold down "sat" key Untill numbers flash. Then add 2 digit key and press star...... then try remote

I have a 9241 receiver cant get remote to work. I tried the remote from the 6131 woks fine. I tried hold sat till blinks enter two digit number press pound press record 4 times. No luck does not work.

Once you set the remote address, go to the menu screen (press menu twice for system info), then press record. You should see the remote address change on the screen.

All my problem was to flip over the tab at the bottom of the remote to put in IR mode. Now programs perfectly.

I cannot get my remote to work with my Yamaha 563 audio receiver, I have the bell remote that came with the 9241 receiver. Does anyone have the access codes ?
