99.9% of the time you are correct. I am just clutching at straws at this stage with the posters problems.
I know of at least a dozen instances, where a customer has signed up for Bell at a Retailer, then got upset with Bell and stormed into the store with the receivers, telling them to send them back to Bell. Not the correct procedure but it does happen.
Then to compound one of these instances, a salesman found a receiver in the back room and sold it to a Customer. Somehow, it got activated on the new account. Then several months later it just died. Calls to Bell eventually showed that it was a Rental receiver that no-one had been paying the Rental on and therefore deamed to be "stolen", hence it was disabled.
It is possible this has happened again.
