Got off phone with CSR. Surprised to find out:

Digital standard price increase from $32 to $34
Premium Movie channel increase from $16 to $18

Effective on Jan 2010 bill

i will look at my bill to see if it increase. because right now it cost me 94$ plus 2$ for the french network. in grand total with taxes around 112-115$, never the same. if it has increase, i might change my packages.

Regor you will see the price change on the next bill as it sounds that your service period on this most recent bill did not start on or after Jan 1st/2010.

Wow, just got nailed with a 5$ increase on my Jan bill.

2$ increase for basic service.

2$ increase on Movie Netowrk + 7 themes.

1$ increase on rental.

Ouch.

anybody have a link that details the price increase or can anyone send me a scan of document that outlines the price increases? TIA, Hugh

This price increase comes right before the Olympics, so it is unlikely too many people will cancel, though some may drop some channels or theme packs to stay within budget. On a percentage basis, the increase does seem excessive. Digital standard up 6.25%, premium movies 12.5%. It will be interesting to see what the percentage increase is on the total bill.

BTW, the latest CPI is 1.0%. The number before that was actually negative (prices were falling).

I don't have a document, but the price increase is simple.

$2 on TMN or Movie Central.

$2 on Digital Std

$1 on each SD rental

This is the price increase that we began to discuss in November 2009. It became effective on all accounts with a statement print date (in CSG) of 01-January-2010 (this is different from a Bell OneBill statement print date).

For example my mom and dad have a legacy bill print date of the 24th of every months (so they service period is from the 9th of the next month to the 8th following month). The price increase will impact their 24-January-2010 bill covering the service period of 9-February-2010 to 8-March-2010.

Thanks for clarifying that cslusarc, I was beginning to think that bell were sneeking in another round of price increases.....

In January, I have a $2 increase in my telephone charge

And a $2 increase in my Internet (Sympatico)

What is interesting is that I had negotated Bell down in order to sign a one year contract. ... so I am going to fight this one.

I got rid of my sd rentals, $4 is a ripoff when you can get a 2700 or 3100 for 30-40 bucks used, they will pay them selves off in 6-10 months.

barter, I would do the same. Renting any receiver at regular price does not make any sense, unless you only plan to rent a receiver for the initial 24-month term or rent a HD-PVR as they are likely to have more problems.

my bill increase 5$. not totally happy but don't have a choice. If you look at the theme packages, some channels i like to listen to are in different theme pack. and if I took the small theme pack with the movie network, well, it will cost me the same thing, with the packages that i will be adding. so i am stuck with the maximum packages. i just wish we could have more options. but for now, its 119$.
