being hot

hi all,i had l5 s1 8 months ago and since then i have been feeling hot at times and i just wondered if anyone else has felt like this,thanks

Like hot flashes? Pain meRAB can cause that. I experienced that a few times when I was on the higher doses.

I agree with Emily - pain medicine can cause this. However, I must also bring up that thyroid problems can cause hot flashes/sweating as well as. I attributed my problems after fusion surgery to pain meRAB and later found out that the leg cramps I was experiencing and sweating was due to my thyroid. I am sure their are other medical reasons for causing this so if it continues I would definitely bring it up to your doctor. You just never know -- you went thru major, major surgery and it is very hard on your body overall.

Are you still on pain meRAB? After I had surgery following the birth of my daughter I was on a heavy duty dose of percocet and I was so hot and sweaty in the hospital.

:confused:I don't know if this has anything to do with your problem, but the info packet that my surgeon gave me on my upcoming 360 Fusion operation contained the following paragraph (which concerns the Anterior portion of the procedure):
 
hi all thank you for your replies i am not taking any pain meRAB and i havent been in pain at all with my back since the op,which is great,i had a blood test the other week to see if i was starting the change cos i thought it might have been that but it came back clear they took one for my thyroid and that was ok so maybe its just me lol.and it gas nothing to do with my back,they are not like hot flushes i just go hot all over and it takes about 1 hour for me to cool down,i will go back to my doctor if it doesnt get any better.
