I am half Dine and half caucasian, I grew up poor and on the reservation but did have the opportunity to learn about my culture and language as I felt I should have. I grew up understanding very little about being Navajo, and have no sense of identity with my caucasian side of the family as they are nonexistent and disinterested. My ties with family on the reservation are also very limited. I feel I should know more about where I grew up and from whom I come from.
Because if I do not, my children will ask me questions that I will not be able to answer unless I can find someone willing to share the stories of culture with me.
I am enrolled within the tribe, yes.
