We already have laws. We have a Federal Department of Agriculture to establish standards for national food production and wholesomeness. If you want to do better as a state be my guest. In the same vein, We have a Federal Department of Homeland Security which deals with a national standard for the prevention of illegal immigration. The people in Arizona want to do better. You choose to fight for rights of chickens over fellow citizens.

How sad.

How

Governor Arnold just signed the bill to require better conditions for chickens that produce eggs that will be sold in California. Good news.

Eggs? Who gives a fuck about that. I want them to stop the abuse of chickens used for meat. Nrabroad
hing pisses me off more than when I get a bucket of fried chicken, only to find someone already broke it's legs.

No, you're right. It won't give peace of mind to people with these type of entrenched beliefs. However to the many of us who value how animals and chickens are treated, it is very valuable indeed.

You said, "Happier chickens = more eggs, better quality, less diseases"

That is exactly what the study was about, "What Jones and her colleagues wanted to learn is whether a happy hen in fact produces a better product"

The conclusion of the study was that you are wrong, "more expensive, but no healthier"

Well, i don't constantly fall for sensationalized propaganda, so I am at least 1 nrabroad
ch above you

A chicken egg is nrabroad
a chicken, afterall it's only yolk and whites, isn't that the same logical excuse people use for the abortion of human beings?

Anywhere you see a chicken coop, ask if they need to get any eggs off of their hands.

Even the people that you see selling them at the end of their driveway, most likely they have eggs they need to give away.

I always when someone is like "I just bought 5 acres, I am gonna get chickens and sell eggs to pay for our yearly vacations!!!"

Yeah, bullshit. And any farmer that doesn't go to farmers markets DAILY, has eggs to give away.

The only reason people "learn the laws" is because they are punished if they don't obey them. They are compelled to obey BY FORCE OR THREAT OF FORCE. Therefore coercion.

Hey, CA! Since eggs are just unborn chickens, what about their humanine treatment? Shouldn't they also be allowed to roll around without touching the side of their enclosure or rabroad
her eggs, instead of being placed in tightly cramped cartons 12 at a time? Have you no feelings?

If you're legitimately concerned for the well-being of these animals then it's going to take a whole hell of a lrabroad
more legislation than this.

All this is is feel good bullshit legislation that doesn't do much for the quality of life of the chickens but will raise the price of eggs in California and likely have unintended consequences that will negatively effect the low and middle classes.
