He seems to think once I move back home i will be fine. but i have read that it takes a year to get off klonopin, and he is saying i will be off in 4 weeks. i am so scared. dont even want to take the lexapro, am so afraid. i will be moving back next weekend, i think i want to wait and see how the first two weeks go of me being back home before i start something new, may even see my doc at home.

Lonely 58:
I just was reading your thread and I have a feeling you might have misunderstood your doc. Maybe you should call him to verify. Several years ago I was getting panic attacks. I never had them before but I was also very depressed and having issues. Anyway, the doc prescribed xanax every six hours and zoloft. But the xanax was only used that often until the zoloft kicked in. Which takes about 4 weeks. After that I only took zanax if I needed it because zoloft treated depression and anxiety. But if I was still having an anxiety attack after that I was still able to take a xanax if needed. I stayed on zoloft for a few years then decided to go off. I gradually went off of it without a problem. I still continue to take a xanax at night because it helps me sleep. I hope this information is helpful. LaLa52

dont put to much faith in what you have read. it seems these self diagnosis websites rely on scaremongering. i have an anxiety disorder, but convinced myself i had a personality disorder and severe depression with psychotic delusions! im sure your doctor knows his stuff, and if you have any worries about anything to do with medication, im sure he/she will be there to listen to you and explain his/her reasons. hope all goes well.

I would call the doc first and tell him what happened.
Also know that it will take your body some time to get adjusted to medicine.
Take small doses if it's way too strong, whether you want to cut 1 in half and just take half at bed time.
I am currently taking Paxil at night, just 1 before bedtime.
I've had to increase the dosage overtime because my body was getting adjusted, but IT HELPS. I can tell such a difference in my anxiety.
I wish you well
Call your doc office first ~
