Before today's civilization was there acne or cancer? (just an example)?

and if there wasn't, doesn't that just prove that these things are caused by our creations (technology, processed foods etc.)
 
To a certain degree, you are right.

Heavy Pollution can cause both Acne AND Cancer, believe it or not.
 
If the people had hormones they had acne.
Hipporcrates called it oncus, so it was known in Greek times.
 
Up until the mid-1800s, most humans died in their 30s or 40s. There were of course exceptions who lived longer, but that was the average.

As you probably know, cancer usually effects people older than this.

At least one of the ancient mummies uncovered had evidence of severe acne scars.

I don't think there's a good answer for your question because we just don't know enough about ancient people's lives.
