I love these movies. I actually saw Before Sunrise the other night on tv, the Indie channel and then jumped at adding Before Sunset to my Netflix list. Now I can't get either movie out of my head. I watched Before Sunset last night twice in a row. I didn't like the ending at first, I was thinking how could it end like that, but i've watched it a few more times now and I love the ending. I think its perfect.
I think overall I enjoyed the Sunrise more because to me, it felt longer, like we had more conversations and it was the beginning. I also loved them together, holding hands, kissing, hugging, etc. With Sunset, we didn't get much of that and I wanted it. I'm not sure of the time, but I felt Sunset ended to quickly. I wanted more dialogue, more scenes of Paris, just more.
Looking around for photos, etc, I have read that the story is supposed to continue. If it did happen in 10 years, or even 5, i'd be happy with 5 years, I'd want them to be together in the end, but I think the movie would be completely different and I want the same concept/more dialogue. Someone posted somewhere, that they would not want them together because they would want some time to pass for Jessie to go home, end things right, get his life in order and have Celine have moved to NY to be with Jessie and he could be near his son. I like that idea. Maybe time would have passed, and the movie would start with picking up Celene at the airport and then they catch up, or talk about the way things have been in their lives, but the end would have them together once and for all. Maybe have the end be where Jessie takes her to "their" apartment and they say, "we're finally together..we're finally home!" Aww, I think I would just melt. Their feelings for each other is definitly something you can't ignore and now that i'm sure they have numbers and addresses, they would not let it happen again.
Here are a couple of my fave pics of the movies.
