Before applying makeup on blemishes....

Is there a product that will smooth and even out the blemish (I get large, cystic, sore pimples)? I'm not concerned with daily makeup wear, I prefer to just cover up my erabaressing breakouts which usually consist of large, sore cysts on my chin, cheeks or nose. While shopping one day I thought I had noticed a product that works like a smoothing clear patch before applying makeup, I think it may have been Neturogena brand, but I'm unsure and I can't seem to find it on their website. I sometimes feel there's no point it trying to cover them up when the makeup enRAB up looking clumpy and cakey and just, bad. Makes me feel like I'm showcasing my acne. But I need to cover up, somehow.

Anyone know what I'm talking about or have any product recommendations or tips on applying makeup evenly on patchy, uneven skin with large rasied acne?!

Thank you very much!!

There are primers you put on before your makeup, but i'm not sure if that's what you're talking about. A primer is basically supposed to make your make up go on smoothly. Just for the record, i've never bought one and i'm not sure if they work. The best thing to do is probably go into Sephora (because they let you try on all sorts of things) and see if you like it.

i like clean & clear concealing treatment stick. it's in a blue swivel up tube and has 3 tones to choose from. since i'm pretty pale, i got the light. it contains salcylic acid as well to help try eliminate the pimple-and of course it's a concealer to cover it up. i use that on my big pimples...dab a bit on directly to the pimple, then use my finger to blend in... then i apply my regular foundation all over my face. i like it too because you can touch up with it on those spots. hope that helps some, i like it! i like the bareminerals makeup line as well- doesn't get cakey.

I use a neautrogena blemish stcik concealer + mineral foundation. This way the blemishes are covered up and I'm shine-free but there is a miminal risk of clogging pores.
I usually gently exfoliate and use glycolic acid toner then a very light moisturiser before the make-up.. This way my skin is flake free..
