Anyone remember the animated Beetlejuice cartoon show from the 80's? If so, what's your favorite episodes and characters?:anime:

The Beetlejuice animated series was just barely an 80's show; it premiered on ABC on September 9, 1989, the tail end of the 80's. It ran on ABC until September 5, 1992, then was picked up by FOX with new episodes from November 1991 to September 1993.

Also, I think it's a crying shame that the show has become such a footnote now that we need to create a thread asking if people even remember it; IMO, it was one of Nelvana's best TV entries. A DVD set of this series is long overdue, IMHO.

That said, I'll answer the questions: yes, I remember the Beetlejuice cartoon series, and enjoyed it. My favorite character was the B-Guy himself, and I have several favorite episodes, but I won't list them all here until I can properly articulate explanations for them all, lest this degenerate into yet another list thread.

Beetlejuice is one of my favorite oldies cartoons of all time ever which Beetlejuice the ghost himself is hilarious which he's my favorite character and his voice actor,Stephen did a great job with his wacky/zany craziness and I mostly love the villains which they were funny & interesting.

My favorite villains from the series were:

Claire - She's pretty cute for a snotty witch, but her bashings were hilarious.
Scuzzo the Clown - Best clown villain who's so funny.
Germes Pondscum - James Bond copy amoeba who's got Sean Connery's accent:D.
Bartholomew Batt - Funny black & white cartoon bat.
The Sheriff of Rottingham - Smelly, stenchy boar villain who turns good at the end.
Goody Two Shoes - Sweet, gentle but evil powerful fairy which her comuppance at the end was funny:p:D.
Prankenstein - Frankenstein monster who makes Beetlejuice play pranks on people.
Caesar - Living salad villain who creates a coliseum for living vegetables.
Beetlejuice's Funny Bone - He loves to "crack" people up with his funny jokes:eek::ack::D.

I used to watch it all the time, but have not seen it since, so I don't recall any particular episodes.

However, one moment still sticks out in my head to this day. No idea of the episode, but there was a chase of some kind. The viewer sees the chase go into a police station from one side and come out the other, and while the chase is occuring inside, an unseen cop is heard yelling, "Watch out for the donuts!" It just really cracked up my friend and I, and it quickly became a much-quoted line for us for many years, and as such, it still sticks out in my mind.

Would love to see the show again, though.

My favorite episode is the one where Beetlejuice turns into a dog and becomes the Deitz's pet. It was such a surprisingly emotional episode.

Agreed. They NEED to put this out on DVD. As well as the movie. Its the movies 20th Anniversary and yet no special edition DVD.

Yea, I haven't seen this show since like 1996!

I don't understand why Boomerang hasn't aired this show, it's got MORE than enough episodes for a long run, and it's one of the better Saturday Morning offerings from back in the day.
