Beethoven Cartoon Series

I never watched this as a child and have only recently got hooked on it. Not just hooked, more like obsessed. I know, I know. I've got unusual taste. Anyways, I recently watched some eps on the internet and my fave character is a tossup of Ginger (The mature, tomboyish collie) and Sparky (The sarcastic stray terrier with a heart of gold). Ginger was originally my fave but Sparky really grew on me! So, anyone like this show? Also, someone showed me a picture of a Sparky figurine on a different forum. Were there ever Burger King/McDonalds/etc toys of this particular cartoon?

I vaguely remember watching the series when it was on. I loved the first two Beethoven films. What I mostly remember is a little book based on an episode of the series. I believe its when Sparky was taken into the pound. I don't remember if there were fast food toys for this series since I don't think it was that popular, but it could have happened as a tie-in to the second movie or something like that.

Beethoven: TAS ran for a single season (from September 17, 1994 to September 2, 1995) on CBS.

Eh, it was all right. Nothing really special or stand out about it, at least not for me.

I liked the theme song for the series.

Most of the show's out on VHS, although Universal did an odd release by splitting the episodes up, putting only three 10 minute episodes per disc. I think all but the 13th episode was released.

Not so well. The show went up against ABC's Free Willy and whatever was on Fox Kids that year, and didn't so hot. 13 episodes (26 shorts) were produced, and 8 VHS releases were produced, but after the show was taken off, it just sort of... disappeared and I don't believe it's been back on t.v. since.

It seems like cartoons about (domesticated) dogs have never done well. Marmaduke, Beethoven, What-a-mess, Family Dog, etc,,all flops that are more or less forgotten.
