I really would love to help rehab large mammals in the Northern parts of the U.S. I've looked into Wildlife and Forestry Conservation through Penn Fosters web site where you can take online course for a fair price ($600). But I get mixed emotions about it. Some say it's not worth it, some say it is. I've found forums where people say to get into contact though your states wildlife fish and game services and talk to their adviser about programs and what type of information I would need to per sure a career in that type of field. Becoming a Wildlife Conservationist?

I've always known that I want to work with animals but I've never wanted to do something like becoming a vet. What I really want to go is travel to other countries and help save endangered species or maybe even become a marine biologist. I've looked up information on becoming a wildlife conservationist and basically what I've gathered is that I'll need to major in something like biology or zoology and should get a Ph.D because of all of the Competition? I'd also like to do some volunteering/internships but the only ones I know of are through Projects Abroad. Does anyone know of any others? Or have any advice on what I should be doing now in order to do what I really want to do in the future? I'll be a junior in hs next year. Also, any colleges out there that offer all of these programs?
