Becoming a Police Officer after a military career?

How hard do you think it would be to become a Police Officer at the age of 38 (after being in the military for 20 years)?
Also if you retired from the military are you still able to be a police officer until you can retire from the police force?

I retired from the military at 38 and was immediately hired by my current agency where I've worked for 16 years as an officer.

Because my agency has a retirement under the state retirement system...I can go a full 20 years here also...no age discrimination. Fortunately, my state also allows one retirement year credit for every 5 years served therefore at 20 years...I will have accumulated 25 years service.

If you have further questions....feel free to email me!

It would probably not be that hard, especially if you stay in shape and dont have any problems while in. It will give you a leg up on on anyone else trying to join. I would go the MP or infantry route, this would look best on your resume. And yes, at 38 you will have time to retire.
