I've been with this company for a little over a year, at my location there is a cap to how many full-time workers they can afford. Well I'm wondering if there is a law that requires employers to make you full-time after you've worked full-time hours for a certain time period. I live in California, and ive worked full-time hours (average) for 10 weeks, I'm on my 11th week this week. I did the math and found out that after this week and the following week, I'll be at an average of 32.5 hours. That is why I want to know if legally, do they have to make me a full-timer after a certain period. A few other co-workers are dealing with this at the moment. I would like to become a full-timer, because you're guaranteed 32 hours a week, you get sick time, personal time, vacation time, paid holidays, and bigger bonuses. If you know if my case has a chance let me know! That you.
