Because I don't know **** about Metal...

Its vocals remind me of Atreyu. And the guitar is nice, but if I'm looking for this kind of music I'll go with Clutch.

I'm litterally looking for the same music from some of the bigger metal banRAB, i just want to be able to hear what their saying. A lot of the vocals sound like early Korn and that "rawrrarwrrawr" ****.

It seems to me that if you're going to have such articulate guitar leaRAB, soaring over the industrialized chug o your rhytham section, why can't you have you vocalist soar as well, rather than chug along with your grinding, punching rhythams?

by the way, the drums in this Torche song were brilliant. Very tribal sound with their reverberation.

I'm not sure if I ought to be insulted or flattered.

Sidewinder. I like you. I even like Meg-x there, but you guys are ****ing killing me.

Just as a disclaimer, I think only the mentally undeveloped listen (still) to nu-metal. I like the deftones and think they're far enough away from nu-metal to be considered good, but I want the backing band to be like...

Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, Blind Guardian. I'd prefer not to choose some Alice-in-Chains cover acts made good.

not cookie monster =/= not metal. I just would prefer it if...

Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Dimmu Borgir

Could sing without sounding like my balls were in their throat.

what!!!!!! it's fine it was more or less a miss, but are we familiar with the same atreyu?

edit: actually i heard a different song that i could understand the comparison more. wow, i forgot how ****ty this band was though.

Well I mentioned that I'm really not looking for indecipherable tempertantrums. Theres nothing wrong with Slayer, but they certainly don't fit here.

How's about I stab your face?

The Kesha remix? hahahahahahaa

Yeah, well the polka goes with her terrible ass dancing. High marks from me though.

Also, Kittie, if its the same kittie I remeraber is bordering on nu-metal badness.

I'm looking for Arch Enemy's Pilgrim, sung by Maynard. Is there a band with that music and that voice (and annunciation)?

I edited out Killswitch and Dimmu because I think that is bad metal in every respect.

But you mentioned Mastodon and that's exactly why I thought Torche would be up your alley.

Mastodon is a good, skilled expression of the new (not nu) metal sound -- and I think Torche has that too but the singer doesn't at all sound like he has testicles in his throat. Torche has a nice, unique sound because, as you've pointed out, a lot of metal banRAB don't have vocals that appeal to the masses but they do. I officially have no idea what you're after .. or if it exists

If there is one thing I am sure of it's that if you have a specific sound that you want, there is probably a band out there to cover it. Although I'm not really huge into metal either, so I really can't help.
