Disney have this crazy marketing ploy to increase demand for their films - they get released after their cinema outing.... then take them off sale for 6 years.
Then they get a special edition re-release years later as something else gets taken out of circulation... as far as I know - Dumbo got taken off to make way for The Lion King and Aladdin replaced Bambi.

Beauty and the Beast got a DVD release very recently, so it probably won't be back for quite some time....

occasionally though (like now), they do a bogof offer on disney films and it's worth taking advantage of, if only for some of the classics i don't have yet!!

Have you checked on e bay. There are a few copies for sale on there, but as you may expect R2 editions are going for around

I know how you feel, xElijahLoverx, Little Mermaid, which is my all time fave, is no longer available and won't be till about 2006!

Good way to make people rush out and buy them though!!

ps Have you tried some of the larger stores like HMV or Virgin, sometimes they have the Ltd editions for a while longer.

well thankyou, I have been looking at these region one-ers.

My cheap dvd player is multiregion, but my proper widesceen attached dvd player isn't- though it plays region 4 and all pirates and stuff..... It plays NTSC on my cheap dvd player (are we seeing some irony here) though its quite jerky on my widescreen telly and i dunno how to fix it.

Region 4 will always play on reg 2, same format and pal. What make is your main DVD player, there are plenty of hanRABet hacks available, but some players do need to be 'chipped'.
