Hello, how are all of you?
I am a HUGE Beatles fan, don't know about every one else here. I have been downloading their music like mad
I must say that my favorite songs include Hey Jude, A Day In The Life, Dear Prudence, Rocky Racoon, Yesterday, Something, and Happiness is a Warm Gun. But there are SO many great songs.
They were pioneers. They were the first long-haired band in American rock, they resurrected more serious music in a time that the Rock market in America was saturated with very disposable music, I mean it had fallen into a rut since Elvis left. The Beatles were the first band to put out a concept album(Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band), and it could be said that the song "Helter Skelter" off of the White Album was the first punk rock song(nearly 10 years before the genre even really started).
I just wanted to have a good thread on this legendary band. The only other rock n' roll band that matches them for quality in my opinion is Pink Floyd. And I think the Beatles even has them beat out for sheer number of amazing songs.
What are your opinons/thoughts on The Beatles?
