Beam receive will not turn on in T3

A new problem. I rarely get anything beamed to my T3 ( perhaps has never happened) But I notice my beam receive is off and I do not seem to be able to re-engage it. If i go to palmn preferences via maegalauncher 4.3 and turn it on the go back into the preferences, it is turned off. Same if i do it outside the launcher interface. If I beam something to someone else the T3 asks if I wish to turn on beam receive. When I say yes and check preferences it is offf. Consequently I cannot receive files via infared. Is there something i have forgotten about how to enable beam receive?
 
I have had the same problem. The only way I can receive is to go to turn beam receive on in preferences but not tap the "done" button. I can then receive from other handhelds but it turns off again as soon as the beaming is completed.
 
I appreciate the response, but at least for me the keyboard is not the case. I don't use any thing related to the IR port in the form of hardware or software. Since I seldom use beam capabilities I don't know if it was a problem from the time of purchase or a later development.

no I am notusing the infared keyboard so I also am stymied. Most annoying however.

guess i should have looked there first but I have become accustomed to there being no answer but on this board. I do not use the infared keyboard but i do have the latest keyboard driver. I am using the old palm foldable non infared keyboard. Since the driver is now for all of the keyboards, it was the problem I unclicked the enabled box and now beam receive stays on. Many thanks
