BBFC bans a violent DVD

who's betting that, no matter how good/bad the film is, it becomes a cult classic just because it is 'banned'.

i bet mark kermode is working on the liner notes for the inevitable future dvd release as we speak.

SounRAB more like the producers got into the groove of making a film that can't legally be released uncut in the UK (or in the USA, according to your link).
 
I'm against censorship but this film seems to be pretty sick.

I don't think this should be compared to Manhunt 2, which should have been released as it was no worse than the Saw/Hostel films.

I think they have got it right this time, if the film is anything like the description.
 
I disagree with it being banned or cut at all,just as I do with any other movie that is banned unless it's snuff or extreme violent pornography.
At the end of the day it is a movie and features acting,it's not a snuff movie or anything-it's not real!.

Now judging by what I read it is likely to be a bad movie,overtly sensational with little artistic merit but I could be wrong.

However the BBFC have never learned to this day that when you prohibit something it actually makes it viewed in a more artistic light,a cult classic if you like.But if you allow it to be available it's just viewed as a fairly boring,motonous movie and not shocking.
 
An argument could be made that this is kinda what 'Murder Set Pieces' is.

Either way, anyone who wants to track down a copy of this dreck and watch it wants their head read.
 
The Internet has brought an end to those Nazi fascists reign of terror. Couldn't even watch a sex film in this shitty country until the late 1990's.

The only people I want to watch being humiliated and tortured are BBFC examiners.:D
 
I was fortunate enough to meet with a member of the BBFC a couple of months ago, and after seeing their clips of Manhunt 2, I can only applaud them for doing their job. I'm sure they were right to ban this film as well. It makes you wonder what kind of people get enjoyment from such films.
 
No it is not,a extreme pornographic movie features acts of sexual violence actually committed against women (or men),if unwillingly then that would usually constitute snuff film.

This is a movie filmed/produced by film companies and ACTED by actors,under American film union bodies.

It's no different to what you could see on the Horror channel,probably just worse but that does not mean it should be illegal to show.

Hell the critically aclaimed Basic Instinct features a guy tied to a bed,having sex and stabbed to death-should that be banned too?
 
So just because you don't like violent movies or Video Games nobody should be allowed to own them although 99.999...% are very sane,decent people looking for a bit of escapism.:rolleyes:
 
I think you need to double-check what the word 'pornographic' means. Check in a dictionary, and then run that definition against the description "extreme violent pornography". Seems to tick every box, as it were.

There's a big difference between banning a film, and refusing to allow a film to be shown in public because to do so would break laws which already exist.
 
Someone I know has seen this film in its uncut state, and from what he has told me it does sound pretty sick. I think the problem the BBFC may have had with the film is that it appears that during filming children were put in harms way and treated badly, if this is the case then they are right to ban it.

I don't think anyone can 100% say "I don't believe in censorship" and I don't believe many people would agree that a film where children were possibly put in harms way should be released.
 
I've seen it and it is very very bad.......to the point of unwatchable. Why they have banned it and given it this free publicity is beyond me.

It's like an old 80's "straight to video" dumb horror flick.............right down to the cheesey synthesizer music throughout the film. In fact, I cannot belive this is a new film just made. It's SO 80's !!!
 
It was released on dvd in the US in 2005 .

I have the directors cut.

The edited version is widely touted on ebay and Amazon as the directors cut so beware if you buy that you get the right one
