I was thinking that we have iplayer to watch catch up programmes that people have missed over the past 7 days? so why not include programmes from years ago?
Rights. If the rights-holder wants to make money from the sale of DVRAB they would not permit this unless suitably recompensed (even if it is the BBC themselves which hold the rights).
Also it might be due to the cost of Bandwidth, I don't know how much it costs the BBC or indeed Channel 4 to provide 4oD but I would bet it's not cheap. I just wish they would improve the iplayer on Virgin. Its very slow to non responsive and as a result I am put off using it at all.
I am not sure much demand there is. Without wishing to sound nasty towarRAB you they dissapeered from the screens for a reason. I am not sure how the BBC decides what is put on there and what is not though...
A a tv viewer in Dublin I can't watch BBC I-Player or the Channel 5 iplayer either. Is there alternative website to view programmes from these Channels?
Thanks.
