didn't want iran to nationalize its oil. iran even agreed to keep all british staff/engineers on site and well paid in exchange for control. western greed caused this one

i wrote a whole paper on this in undergrad, but i dont know where it is right now

the chapter in stephen kinzer's overthrow book is really good.
 
This is a really good documentary very very interesting..

Cliffs: It's amazing how close Iran and the USA came to making amends only to have one side fuck it up at the last second..

yah right, its all the U.S. fault that relationships are not good with Iran. Both countries have played their role.

With that said, all the tough talk the U.S. has towards Iran is just that, talk. I think the U.S. is smart enough to recognize that Iran is a stable country where we haven't see much if any aggression from. Sure they talk about doing shit, but what country doesn't? I really don't care if they get nuclear weapons because I think they are a country with enough awareness to use it responsibly. north korea is another issue however...
 
Did you even watch it..

There are numerous occasions where Iran is at fault and a numerous occasions where America is at fault..

There just hasn't been a situation where both side are in the correct political circumstance where they can see a deal to completion..

After watching this though I feel a bit more optimistic about Iran/USA relations in the long run... It's pretty clear both sides are slowly working there way to a mutual agreement.
